In brief

The school was built to the designs of architect Edward Holmes in 1880 to 1881, then extended in 1885 and 1891. Built of severe Gothic red brick. Similar in style to that of Martin & Chamberlain (but not one of their buildings). On Albert Road is the former School Board Offices, also by Holmes dated 1880. Now a part of the Prince Albert Community Trust.
