In brief
A cinema opened in Aston in April 1911 under the name of the Pavilion Electric Theatre, next to The Aston Hotel. But during World War I it closed in 1915, never to re-open. It was later used as an independent bingo club and the Witton Snooker Club. It was a Billiard's Hall in the 1960's and 1970's, then was Ronnie's Roller Rink during the 1980's. In recent years it was used as the Centre for the Aston Family, until 2014-15. But was then the location of Birmingham Settlement - Aston from 2015 to 2023 (before they vacated the building for Alma House in Newtown).
