The school was opened in 1903 for the Lodge Estate Schools. This is noted in stone about the Infants sign.

The modern school name is Lodge Primary School, one of the schools run by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

It was built of red brick with terracotta and a tile roof. There is a tower in the centre from Oak Lane.
