It has a history going back to Anglo-Saxon times, but probably dates to the 12th century. The current structure is a mid 19th century rebuild and is a Grade I listed building.

St Peter's Collegiate Church - History

St Peter's has a Anglo-Saxon foundation, but the church we know todays started in the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th centuries.

The crossing and south transept date to the late 13th century, while the nave to the late 15th.

The tower, north transept, chancel and restoration from 1852 to 1865 by E. Christian.

Built of Ashlar with a lead roof in a Cruciform plan. Built in the Decorated style.

Until the 18th century, this was the only church in Wolverhampton.
