You can approach the Faraday statue from University Station at the West Gate of the University of Birmingham. It is on University Road West near the School of Computer Science.

It was a gift from the artist Sir Eduardo Paolozzi to the University of Birmingham, to mark their Centenary in the year 2000.

During the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (Summer 2022), Faraday was joined by Perry the Bull and the slogan 'Sport is just the beginning' at the School of Computer Science.

By the autumn of 2022, the banners next to Faraday had been replaced by the University of Birmingham with: 'Proud to to a World Top 100 University' and 'Welcome Game Changers'.
